How much will you offer for my garage?
Each garage is unique and therefore any offer will vary depending on things like tenure, location, condition and demand
Where do you buy garages?
Whilst we prefer garages in the South-West England we'll consider any garage in mainland UK. Unfortunately, we are not able to consider garages in the Channel Islands or outside of the UK.
How long will it take?
The process, from start to finish, shouldn't take longer than 3 months although this may vary dependent on the legal process. It is possible that Carhouse may not be in a position to purchase your garage right away, in this instance we'll have other options available to you.
What if my garage is registered with my main property?
Most garages in the UK are on the same title. The process to split the garage from your main property will be taken care of though the legal process via a HM Land Registry TP1 Form.
Will I need to pay capital gains tax?
As of 2022, the Capital Gains Tax allowance for an individual is £12,300. Provided that you haven't used any of your allowance in the current tax year and that the capital gains realised is less than the allowance you can assume that no CGT will be due although you should always seek advice from a professional. Selling just your garage can be an effective way of reducing you over capital gains liability if you sell the remainder of your property in a future tax year.
